DJ Happenings

Donwill has amassed a serious cult following with a nimble flow, backed by bombastic tracks as both a soloist, and as a member of the hip hop group, Tanya Morgan. Recently he's found a voice outside of the booth as an actor, comedian and journalist. Between recording, DJ'ing and touring with his band at various Brooklyn hot spots, he also manages a weekly podcast, 'Bad With Names', for working creatives.

Dopeshoes began DJing professionally in 2005, as a resident at Soul Sauce, a weekly Friday night dance party in the heart of San Diego's Gaslamp District. In the years that followed, she built a loyal following both in and outside of San Diego via a string of successful mixtapes and frequent appearances on Earthbound Radio and Jazz 88.3.  Since relocating to Brooklyn in 2010, Dopeshoes has opened for Foster the People, performed with Angel Haze, and played at high-profile venues including Output, Natural History Museum, Ace Hotel and Webster Hall. She is currently a resident at More Than Enough, a bimonthly Saturday party at Le Poisson Rouge and divides her time between DJing, producing, and writing for Time Out New York.

From an early age, Amir's ears were filled with the warm and colorful sounds of jazz, gospel, soul and disco coming from his parents' stereo. He's traveled far and wide in pursuit of the rarest wax; visiting over 100 cities across the world, and has had his knowledge called upon by some of the biggest names in hip-hop. It was by fate that he would meet fellow crate digger KON in 1996, creating the collaboration of the ON TRACK mixtape series. It was alos during the 90s that Amir began working at records labels such as, Fat Beats, Rapster/!K7 Records, ABB records and Wax Poetic Records. He then took this experience to create his own label, 180 Proof Records. Today, he continues to work and create, while touring the world; and continues to bring the globe a deep, rich, alternative sonic experience.
